Part of why this series of images made me stop and think is because our son Milo is currently almost 15 months old and as parents we’ll probably start investing time and money into the Disney franchises because… well, because he’s a child and it’s Disney. He’ll go through a Cars phase, maybe Toy Story with a dabble of Ants. Or maybe not. But anyway…

He’s innocent and the Disney stories are innocent too at his age. Nevertheless, like any parent who’s aged 36, you start to see all kinds of sub-plots in Disney films that you didn’t notice when young.

These images bring a sense of mortality to fairytales, a coming of age.
