Our son Milo is only 15 months old at the time I write this, but it doesn’t stop us from wondering what careers will exist when he looks to join the work force.
Our parents’ generation were part of the “jobs for life” era – or at the very least having the same job for more than a decade straight. Our generation are more used to the news of potentially no pensions, having to work late into life and being more freelance than permanent.
And thanks to silicon valley, job titles have also undergone somewhat of a massive transformation; Who knows what a “Head of in-store Engagement” or “Chief People Officer” does? Know any LinkedInDigital Overlords, Creators of Happiness or Retail Jedis? All legit titles.
It’s all changed so quickly, but perhaps we can glimpse the future of employment in the skills Milo is displaying now… Better get a CV written!
